Breathing, Meditation and Yoga Course for Depression and Anxiety – Online 3 CE Course

yoga-workshop

In this online course tools are compiled and selected from the traditions of meditation and yoga to assist clients and students with depression, anxiety, sleep issues, poor focus, low self-image and daily stress. Psychotherapists are able to receive 3 CE credits for this online course (see bottom for specifics of professions and states). No prior yoga or meditation experience is necessary and one does not need to be flexible. All levels are welcome.

Many clients initially said early in therapy to me comments such as, “deep breathing doesn’t work for me”, “I can’t meditate due to too many thoughts” and “I’ll always have problems with germs”. They were discouraged about any techniques being helpful for them, due to past attempts and failures at challenging inner patterns. I created this course after seeing many people benefit from simple practices that gave them control over internal negative dialogues, agitated thoughts and feelings of helplessness. Their courage, determination and positive results were the inspiration for this online course.

Through the study of the MP3 audios and PDF materials (which are downloaded after purchase), participants will be instructed in how to practice various yoga poses, breathing (pranayama) exercises and meditations to work with clients in order to help them apply these techniques to aid in reducing racing thoughts, elevate low moods, improve concentration and to gain better coping skills. Clinicians will also be able to implement these tools for the common problems in the helping professions of fatigue, burnout and emotional exhaustion.

Case studies are utilized throughout the online course from my thirty years of psychotherapy practice with clients ranging from 6 years old to 82.

My background:

I’ve been a licensed social worker for over thirty years and have worked with a wide range of clients at mental health agencies, assisted living facilities, private practice and at youth centers. I received my MSW from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1982. My Florida license number is SW 5407. I’m also a certified yoga teacher and completed a 9 month teacher Training Program I designed by psychologists Dr. Singh and Dr. Bhajan covering techniques to treat feelings of hopeless, depressed moods, negative inner dialogues and low self-worth. I completed Module II Conscious Communication from Dr. Singh and have additional training from courses of Sherrie Wade.

The additional BreathWalk Certification training taught me skills for working with clients with breath in the walking context. My background also includes workshops in Mindfulness, Sivananda Yoga weekend trainings and meditation retreats. I continue to read and study great sages from the East and West including Jung, Irvin Yalom, Michael Singer and Joseph Campbell to help people from all backgrounds.
