Update: A new workshop on February 28th, 2015 on Yoga, Meditation and Breathing for Mental Health Issues will be at the Boca Raton Community Center. NOTE: The October 26th workshop in Deerfield Beach has already taken place and was a lot of fun! If you missed it come to the February 28th workshop in Boca Raton and other dates will be offered in various South Florida locations during 2015. By the way, if you are a psychologist, social worker, nurse, mental health counselor or other professionals, please know you can take the 3 CEU online course so if it is hard to travel or you are out of state, check it out. It is approved by the APA, ASWB, NBCC, ANCC and other boards. For the in-person workshop, specific techniques for the relief of anxiety, depression and stress issues will be taught. Social workers, mental health counselors and marriage and family therapists can receive 3 CEU credits applicable to the 30 CEU requirement due every two years in Florida. These are approved by NBCC and accepted by the Florida Board. They are also accepted in most US states so if you are visiting Florida, please contact me if you need credits for your profession. You do NOT need to be a therapist to attend however.
In this 3 hour experiential workshop you will learn effective techniques to help clients with racing thoughts, insomnia, feelings of hopelessness, negative self-statements, low energy, mild depression and poor self-image.
Participants will practice the postures, concentration exercises and breathing methods to personally experience the calmness and clarity that results from balancing the glandular system and strengthening the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. You do NOT have to have background in yoga or be flexible.
